It’s official: Windows XP is now dead, at least according to Microsoft:
“After April 8, 2014, there will be no new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options or online technical content updates.”
If you are still running Windows XP – and we know there are many of you – you are about five years late in transitioning to a current operating system. If you are a business user of Windows XP, fire your IT department. If you are a home user, see what it means according to Microsoft. Another option is to switch to a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu, upgrade to a Mac or entrust yourself to Google. Options, options.
